About the Benninghofen House

The Benninghofen House is a historic Queen Anne Victorian in Hamilton, Ohio—carefully restored, thoughtfully lived in, and now shared as a place for rest, gathering, and connection.

Built in the late 1800s, the house has seen many lives. From 2015 to 2021, it was home to us—Bekki and Michael Rennick—where we raised our family and learned the rhythms of the space from the inside out. Those years shaped not only our relationship with the house, but our understanding of how a place can quietly support daily life, reflection, and community.

Today, that lived experience informs everything we do as hosts.

Our Philosophy

We believe the most meaningful places are not over-designed or overly curated. They feel grounded. Lived-in. Calm. They invite people to slow down.

At the Benninghofen House, hospitality is personal and hands-on. We care deeply about comfort, atmosphere, and the small details that help people feel at ease—whether they are here for a night, a retreat, or a longer stay.

This is not a hotel. It is a home that has been thoughtfully opened.

Bekki & Michael

Bekki and Michael Rennick are the owners and stewards of the Benninghofen House—and soulmates who share a love of old homes, thoughtful design, and creating spaces where people feel genuinely welcomed and cared for.

Bekki brings a deep sensitivity to atmosphere, comfort, and human connection. She loves hosting women's retreats of all kinds and is a dedicated yoga instructor, teaching four classes each week from the Benninghofen House. Movement, breath, and presence are woven naturally into the life of the space through her teaching.

Michael brings a builder's mindset and a love of systems and craftsmanship. He is deeply involved in the preservation and care of the house and serves as the chef for all retreats. An accomplished cook and dedicated pizza chef, he believes that shared meals—prepared with care and intention—are central to creating a sense of belonging.

Together, they see the Benninghofen House not simply as a destination, but as a place to gather, reflect, and feel at home.
