Lino Printmaking Workshop: A Creative Journey in Relief Printing

Whether you’re a seasoned artist or have never picked up a carving tool before, this workshop invites you to explore the captivating world of lino printmaking. Under the guidance of experienced artist and instructor, Renee Lentz, you’ll be led through every step of the process—from designing and carving to inking and printing.

Workshop Highlights:

Learn the fundamentals of lino printmaking, including tools, materials, and techniques.

Design your own unique print with inspiration from iconic artists like Andy Warhol.

Experiment with underpainting using watercolors and overpainting with paint markers to add color, depth, and texture to your prints.

Enjoy hands-on carving, inking, and printing as you create multiple one-of-a-kind pieces to take home.

Receive personalized support and guidance, ensuring a fulfilling creative experience.

All materials will be provided—just bring your creativity and a willingness to explore!

Meet our art instructor:

Renee Lentz is an artist, educator, and creative collaborator based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Since 2012, she has been a Visual Arts teacher at Clark Montessori High School, where she guides students through a variety of artistic disciplines, including ceramics, wheel throwing, digital media, and mixed-media art. While ceramics is her primary passion, she enjoys exploring all forms of artmaking and inspiring creativity in her students.

Beyond the classroom, Renee actively collaborates with local artists and organizations such as Visionaries and Voices, Chicken Lays an Egg, and Queen City Clay. She believes in the power of artistic community and enjoys working alongside fellow creatives to share ideas and expand artistic expression.

Renee holds a Master of Arts in Art Education from the University of Cincinnati, where she also earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts, graduating magna cum laude. She has also pursued further studies through Idaho State University and The Art of Education University.

When she’s not teaching or creating, Renee enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, going to the gym, and caring for her pets. Through her work, she continues to foster a love of art in her students while contributing to the vibrant arts community in Cincinnati.

Retreat guests stay in our 5-star rated, unique boutique-hotel apartments at The Benninghofen House. Each guest will have a private bedroom and share a bathroom and kitchen with another person.

Includes - private overnight accommodations for three nights, 4 printmaking workshop sessions and supplies, 7 meals and snacks, optional yoga, hot tub, sauna, recipes from the retreat

*Extended Retreat - Additional nights can be added before and after the retreat for an additional fee.

*Payment plan available. $250 nonrefundable to book into a retreat with the remainder due 30 days prior to the retreat. Reach out through our website contact page to set up a payment plan.

*Cancelling a retreat - No refunds unless canceled 30 days prior to the retreat. You may transfer your booking to another person or to a future retreat if you are within the 30 day period for a fee.
